Personal Testimony – Carol Mills (NCCA)
Faith, Perseverance, and Compassion Shaped Through Suffering
Carol Mills is the eldest of twelve children and was raised in a home deeply rooted in faith, prayer, and ministry. Though her family could not afford college, she trusted God to make a way—and He did. Her education was fully provided, reinforcing her belief that God opens doors that seem impossible (Philippians 4:19, NKJV).
Soon after college, Carol married, welcomed her first son, and influenced her husband toward a deeper walk with the Lord. Yet her early years of marriage were marked by deep sorrow. Her beloved mother died at just 46, and later her father also went home to be with the Lord. In the midst of raising four sons, working in the school system, and caring for a sick sister, Carol battled loneliness, anxiety, and depression—but kept turning her burdens over to God (Psalm 46:1, NKJV).
Over the years, Carol and her husband took in two younger brothers, helped guide them through school and into successful lives, and later assumed care for her autistic nephew after her sister passed away. When her husband became disabled and ultimately passed in 2021, the weight of grief was heavy—but God’s quiet whisper, “Trust Me, I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10, NKJV), sustained her.
Because she has walked through loss, caregiving, financial hardship, and emotional pain, Carol carries a deep compassion for those who suffer. Her life story fuels her calling to come alongside others with understanding, faith, and hope—reminding them that with God’s help, they do not have to walk through their darkest seasons alone.
